3 April: Alternative Ways to Manage Speed within the Parish

Spurstow Parish Council are keenly aware that Spurstow residents are keen to concerned about the speed of traffic onlong it’s road networks and have as such in May 2018 formed a small sub-group to support come up with ways to manage the speed of vehicles through the parish.

Behind the scenes we have been working closely with Cheshire East Council to improve the line painting at major junctions, and negotiate the relocation of existing 30mph signs on Peckforton Hall Lane further away from the junction.

In December we submitted a grant application to Cheshire East to request help to purchase a Speed Indicator Device for the parish but were unsuccessful in our bid, but have been grateful to borrow one from Cheshire East on a temporary basis.

At our last meeting, March 2019, the Council approved the purchase of speed awareness bin stickers for those roads with a percieved speed problem and will be purchasing and distributing them to residents in the coming months.
